At first, Sumyz.com came across as a legit platform for interracial dating, but it did not manage to fool us. It has been created by an independent operator called Sebastian Xavier Gonzalez, from Albstadt, in Germany. In fact, the website is predominantly in German. We had to find our way around to find the translation button, to get the English version. We had to do the same a few times, for example, when visiting the Terms and Conditions, as every page was in German, by default.

The landing page features an interracial couple and shows us the features on the platform. There is a free chatroom, and apparently, the profiles are verified one by one. They assure us that they are a reputable dating site, and they insist that they are experts in intercultural and interracial dating. Visually, the design looks modern and colorful, and suitable for the type of dating they wish to assist with.

For this review, we created a simple profile and performed a few tests. We also scanned the Terms of Use very carefully, in search of suspicious paragraphs. At first, everything seemed quite proper. We were almost ready to give this dating website our approval. But then, we accessed the members’ area, with our brand-new profile. There, we realized that the profiles were most likely not real. Based on our experience, we believe this is a fake chat scam which could trap you in a dangerous subscription.

Unreal profiles

Sumyz.com looked great at first, but not so much to our trained eye. It was the profiles that gave it away in the end. In our opinion, this is a well-made, cheeky scam. The first thing that caught our attention was that most women on the platform were gorgeous. This is just not how things work in the real world.

On the other hand, all the profiles were almost empty. They gave a couple of details like height and preferred language, and that was it. Every single one of them seemed to be this way. This is usually an indication of a fake chat. Furthermore, sometimes the age and the picture did not seem to match at all. And no matter where in the world they were based, they all preferred to talk in German. All of this sounds very unlikely.

Coins and subscription

This platform has a dual income stream. It offers a premium membership, and “credits” for certain features. The credits can be used to boost our profile and increase visibility. They can also be used to send virtual gifts and get special stickers. With the subscription, the advantages are similar. It also increases visibility and grants a discount when using the so-called “boost me” function. To be fair, it is all rather confusing, and the advantages of one over the other, are unclear. It sounds like the user probably needs both, and at this point we are positive this is a rip-off.
