It looks like we have finally come across an honest and reliable dating portal for seniors. But the good first impression will be contradicted by the result of our research. We will uncover in fact that SilverCupid.com implements an automatic message system to lure the users into buying into a subscription rip-off.

The operator responsible for this scam is named Antheia Services Ltd, who are based in Larnaca, in Cyprus. We recently encountered this company for the first time, and our previous reviews and experiences proved that it is better to stay away from their platforms.

The initial page of SilverCupid.com presents itself with a simple yet effective design. The background image that welcomes the visitors is spot on, and shows a mature smiling couple who appear to have found happiness and love. A user would probably get the feeling of being on a website that can guarantee seniors will find a suitable partner. Apparently, it is possible to finally rediscover peace and serenity.

The positive impression is reinforced by the written content. The platform boasts thousands of active profiles from every corner of the Country. They are all ready to meet new people and have genuine experiences. Customer support is available 24/7 to solve any problem that should arise. Moreover, the registration is advertised as quick, easy, and free.

Deceiving messages

But after creating a personal account, a user realizes that if he wants to take advantage of all the services, he must purchase a paid subscription. The basic free registration is not enough to read and send messages.

To make everything worse, in the Terms and Conditions we read that the incoming messages hide a cheeky trick. They are the result of an automated communication system, which should help users to promote their accounts. The messages can be created with the help of a template or can be written by the users. SilverCupid.com broadcasts these messages on behalf of them.

The problem is that the platform has the right to choose which users will receive these messages, and can also edit them without any notice. The recipient does not know that the communication is fake, and therefore is enticed to buy a subscription to be able to reply.

Impossible to cancel

But the subscriptions sold by Antheia Services Ltd, the company registered in Larnaca, in Cyprus, are a scam. Unless they are canceled by the user, they renew automatically. But the notice required is 72 hours. This is not enough, because the trial periods run for exactly 3 days.

As a consequence of that, a member is forced to pay for a monthly subscription that obviously costs a lot more.

At first sight, SilverCupid.com seems like a promising dating website for seniors. But our review has instead revealed that it is an untrustworthy platform, where it is easy to become a victim of a subscription rip-off.

An automatic communication service tricks new users into thinking that there is somebody interested in them. These fake messages encourage them to buy a VIP membership, which turns out to be a trap. In fact, all the trial plans are impossible to cancel.
