    Report for PlayCougar.com review

PlayCougar.com appears to be an ideal place to arrange casual dates with attractive, mature women. The portal advertises with free registration, has a safe environment, and many active members. Sadly though, after a bit of research, we found out that the site is not trustworthy. In fact, it is just a subscription rip-off.

To unlock the chat feature, users are required to purchase a paid subscription. These subscriptions renew automatically and are very difficult to cancel. Therefore, they are nothing but costly traps for tricking new users into their paid services as quickly as possible. PlayCougar.com sends computer-generated fake messages to their users. It is a very cheeky strategy.

The site is operated by AriemGroup Ltd, from Hong Kong. They run numerous scam websites and have already received many negative user reviews online.

    Details on the PlayCougar.com review

At first glance, the online dating platform PlayCougar.com seems to be trustworthy and promising. The site claims to be a good place to meet mature women, who are looking for younger love partners. To find out whether or not the portal can be recommended or not, we created a free profile, read the terms and conditions, and searched for user experiences and reviews on the internet. Our research revealed that signing up on PlayCougar.com is not a good idea. The site is nothing but a scam with a subscription rip-off.

    Cheeky fake message scam

Immediately after the free registration, new users receive many intriguing chat messages. As these messages appear to be sent by other members, users are tempted to reply quickly. But to be able to do so, they must first sign up for a paid membership subscription. This is because only paying subscribers are granted full access to the chat feature.

Reading the terms and conditions, we found out that all the enticing chat messages are fake. They are not sent by actual members, but by a computer-generated messenger system, so-called “chatbots”. As we see it, the sole purpose of these fake messages is to trick new users into becoming paying members as quickly as possible.

The following excerpt can be found in the terms and conditions

We may from time to time offer users the ability to “Promote My Account” through Account Settings. Activating this service will mean that we will automatically broadcast custom messages created by any user, or selected from a default list of template messages, to other users. We reserve the right to select members to use the Promote My Account service. Sending of messages through this service will be free, however, recipients who view and choose to reply to a Promote My Account message, will require to have an upgraded Paid Membership in order to reply to the sender.

    Subscription rip-off

All offered membership subscriptions are subject to an automatic renewal billing policy. Therefore, they must be terminated by the user to avoid recurring charges. Unfortunately, the operator of the site is known to make it extremely difficult to get out of these subscriptions. As a consequence, users are basically doomed to pay the expensive fees on a regular basis.

To avoid getting caught up in this costly trap, we advise you to stay away from PlayCougar.com, and any other website run by the same operator. Hong Kong-based AriemGroup Ltd is responsible for numerous dating scam portals, and has already received many negative reviews and customer complaints on the internet.

The conclusion from our PlayCougar.com review

Sadly, PlayCougar.com turns out to be a rip-off. The site uses computer-generated fake messages to lure new users into quickly signing up for a paid subscription. However, these subscriptions are dangerous traps. They renew automatically and are extremely difficult to cancel. The site’s operator is already known for this kind of scam. They have already received numerous negative user reviews online.
