There evidently isn’t a better place to get in touch with sincere singles ready to open their hearts and find their special ones. We conducted extensive research and found the truth is completely different.

Most profiles in the members’ area are fictitious. They are created by fake chat operators who impersonate real-life characters. Their purpose is to lure users into buying paid subscriptions that turn out to be a rip-off. We also scanned the internet to check what former users think of this platform and its operator. We came across several negative reviews that describe LoveAholics.com as a scam. The company that runs this portal is Apricot Digitals LLC, which is based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

LoveAholics.com might look like a legit dating website aimed at people looking for real love and long-term relationships. But this platform is nothing more than a rip-off. In the terms and conditions, it admits to using fantasy profiles to communicate with its members. These fake accounts, defined as “Staff Profiles”, are controlled by company employees. Officially, the purpose of staff profiles is to ensure the service is functioning properly, thus improving the users’ experience.

This is just a nice turn of phrase that indicates a fake chat scam. The fictitious accounts are not identified separately in the system. A user cannot therefore distinguish them from genuine ones, assuming there are any. The result is that real-life meetings are not possible on LoveAholics.com. Moreover, the subscriptions are also a rip-off. They extend automatically unless canceled by users. But the required notice is 72 hours, which is not enough time to avoid the renewal of trial membership, which lasts just for one day.

Cancellation is therefore impossible, and trial membership will inevitably convert into a much more expensive monthly subscription. Our findings are confirmed by countless negative reviews past users have written about the operator of LoveAholics.com. We have also encountered Apricot Digitals LLC several times in the past, and all our previous experiences have been highly disappointing.

In order to register on LoveAholics.com, a user has to create a profile. The registration form consists of 5 required fields, one of which requires a valid email address that will be used to send a link to activate the account. Right after registration, a new member has the option of uploading a profile picture. Although this is not mandatory, it is highly recommended by the platform to increase a user’s chances of finding a partner. Although we didn’t do this, we were still able to access the members’ area anyway.

Before a new member signs up, there is no mention of costs and subscriptions. Registration is in fact advertised as being free. This information is misleading, as the free basic account has serious limitations and is essentially useless. Only paying subscribers can connect with other users. Moreover, on the landing page, we couldn’t find any reference to moderators or animators. At this point, anyone deciding to sign up is completely unaware that the chat is a scam.

The members’ area in LoveAholics.com is well-designed and easy to navigate. All the essential features can be spotted at first sight. A green dot is used to mark profiles online at the actual moment we test the platform. Several filters can be applied to refine our search: location, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and many more. Our first impression is generally positive, especially since all profiles seem real. But after a few minutes, we checked our mailbox and noticed we had already received more than 10 messages from attractive ladies.

This is a clear indicator that these profiles are fake. As already mentioned, we didn’t even upload a picture. All this attention is therefore otherwise hard to explain. We know from experience that on an honest dating platform, a male profile without a picture doesn’t receive any messages.
