    Report for LonestarDating.com review

LonestarDating.com defines itself as a small and safe dating platform specially designed for those who are looking for flirts and partners in Texas. The website targets all the people that are sick of conventional dates and want to try their luck with online dating. Whether you're looking for long-term commitment or casual encounters, if you live in Texas, LonestarDating.com appears to be the ideal portal to join.

Unfortunately, not all that glitters is gold. Our review will prove that this platform is a scam that uses a classic subscription rip-off to bind its customers to a contract that is impossible to cancel. Moreover, most of the messages are not real, and are automatically broadcasted by a piece of software. The operator of the website: Apricot Digitals Ltd from Sofia, Bulgaria, alleges to offer fake chat services to enhance the user experience. In actuality, the real reason is to trick users into buying the subscription and make them fall into the trap.

    Details on the LonestarDating.com review

The initial page of LonestarDating.com is quite familiar. The design and the contents resemble what we have seen on various dating websites that we have visited in the past. We suspect that the Bulgarian Apricot Digitals Ltd, from Sofia is actually the same company that was forced to change its name, in an attempt to hide the horrible reputation that it gained after receiving countless negative reviews.

The registration on LonestarDating.com is advertised as free, but this is just misleading information. While the creation of a personal account doesn't require any payment, the same cannot be said for everything else. In fact, in order to send messages, a paid subscription is needed.

    What happens after signing up

Immediately after getting access to the member's area, we started receiving a lot of promising messages. We found all of this to be quite strange, because our profile doesn't even have a picture. An account like that doesn't normally get any attention. To solve this mystery, we decided to take a closer look at the terms and conditions, where we discovered that the messages are the result of a service called "Promote My Account".

With this service, custom messages are created by real users, but are automatically sent by the platform to all new members. Even if the sender was real, this is still a fake chat scam, because the person that receives them don’t know that he/she is the recipient of an automatic message that doesn’t lead to any real-life date.

The following is an extract from the Terms and Conditions

We may from time to time offer users the ability to 'Promote My Account' through Account Settings. Activating this service will mean that we will automatically broadcast custom messages created by any user, or selected from a default list of template messages, to other users. We reserve the right to select members to use the Promote My Account service.

    The subscriptions are a trap

After receiving so many tempting messages, a new user becomes an easy victim. Since he/she doesn't know that the communications are fake, they are enticed to buy that subscription. This will allow him to keep the conversation going. To make things look even more appealing, LonestarDating.com occasionally offers 1 to 3 days trial plans that come at a ridiculously low price. Unfortunately, there is a catch.

All the subscriptions renew automatically if they are not canceled.  For this to occur, a member has to respect a 72 hours notice. That's obviously impossible with the trial packages will inevitably turn into an expensive monthly subscription.

The conclusion from our LonestarDating.com review

LonestarDating.com is an untrustworthy dating website. Fake messages are used to lure the users into buying a paid membership that is nothing more than a subscription rip-off. Not only is a member forced to spend much more money than he expected, but also this costly experience will never give him the possibility to reach his goal. Since there is no way to determine whether a message is real or fake, the chances of arranging a genuine date are minimal.
