LocalCheaters.com is a dating website that doesn’t let us know much about its target group. Based on the name of the site, we assume that the target audience is people who get turned on by infidelity or just want to find a new lover outside their current relationship. We do not know who the company behind this website is, or where they are based. After creating countless reviews, we knew that was already a huge red flag that would immediately cause people to turn away.

The landing site features a picture of a cheeky long-haired brunette in black lingerie, which encourages visitors to the site to join. Next to the picture of the gorgeous woman is a typical registration form. There wasn’t any text that let users know what the site offered. Speaking from experience in dealing with fake dating sites, this lack of clarity is another sign of a scam. The fine print at the bottom of the registration form reveals the text that confirms the use of fantasy profiles; meaning the portal uses a fake chat service where real-life encounters will be impossible.

We generated our own profile to assess the website for this review. Just as we expected, we received a lot of underserved attention with your empty and boring dating profile. We soon received hundreds of notifications after registering, although we couldn’t read the contents. Since the website is subscription-based, we couldn’t read our messages with our free profile. However, considering that the operator chooses to hide their identity, it is probably not a good idea to trust them. If something goes south, you won’t have a reliable way to reach them.

The company behind LocalCheaters.com has gone to great lengths to remain anonymous. They clearly do not want users to know who they are or where they are operating from. In our experience, this is already letting us know we should stay away from this rip-off site. The website has a subscription-based business model that entails automatic renewals. Your card will be charged periodically unless you manage to cancel your contract. If you choose to sign up for a VIP membership, you will be giving way too much power to a company you know nothing about.

Fake chat rip-off

The Terms of Use refer to fake profiles as “Online Cupids,” to not let users know about the fake chat scam. We know most people won’t bother reading the small print warning, and the company also knows this. For this reason, we believe that this was intentional. We received dozens of notifications and friendship requests but couldn’t see any nude pictures or use the chat feature which is restricted to premium members only. However, we did see plenty of ads linking to erotic games and nude webcams. Thus, the website obtains a double income stream through subscriptions and ad revenue.

Keeping your data safe

Another important factor to consider is that the company will use the users’ profiles on other dating websites within their network. This is one of the ways they manage to fill the members’ page with phony profiles. They simply duplicate a look-a-like profile from one website and place it on another one. Other accounts are probably fictitious by being formed with sexy pictures that were found online to create a simple bio. They will share users’ personal data such as e-mail addresses with third parties.

LocalCheaters.com is a dating portal that will never help users find a real-life date to encounter. The landing site says little about the service. However, we know the members’ area is full of fake profiles. Moreover, your e-mail address and personal information may end up in the wrong hands if you use this site’s services. We are also concerned about the fact that we couldn’t find out what company created this scam. If something goes wrong, you wouldn’t be able to reach them or take legal action.
