Report for Amor40.com review

Amor40.com is an online dating website that offers free registration and promises smart matches tailored for users to have a joyous experience. The starting page contains some details, and the website has a very simple design with stock photos of couples looking at each other in a romantic way.

One of the negative factors about the site is that it lacks a logo. Another factor is that it has an annoying visual bug that makes the first image occupy a large portion of the screen. It is easily resolved by scrolling down the page, but users often experience the bug every time they refresh the page. Amor40.com is owned by Tyche Technologies AG, a company based in Switzerland, Zug. We have already written several reviews of other dating websites owned by this company, and many of the websites under this company were fake chat services, rip-offs, and/or subscription scams.

Based on the information that we found, our personal user experience, and the prior knowledge of its owner company, we can say that Amor40.com is a fake chat service and a rip-off. There are some indicators that implicate it as a subscription scam too. The very large number of matches that we got in a matter of a few seconds clearly points to this fact, and we found many other subtle as well as non-subtle confirmations.

Details on the Amor40.com review

According to the home page, Amor40.com has a total amount of 100,000 registered profiles and 5,000 online users. On the “About us” page we read that Amor40.com helped thousands of couples find a successful match and welcomes millions of new members. When we started to have a look at the members’ area, we instantly noticed that every profile presented the same city of residence.

When viewing our matches, we saw more than eight pages filled with profiles we matched with despite having registered for just a few minutes. They were all clearly fake profiles, and there were too many of them. We confirmed our findings when we read the Terms of Use, where we found legal text referring to the members as site operators. We also found proof in the text admitting to having an automated system (bots) that engages in online chats with users.

The following excerpts were taken from the terms of use

The Service enables members to connect with each other, exchange pictures, stories, fantasies, and contact and engage in conversation with other members, our representatives, and our automated system.

You understand and agree that there is no guarantee that you will find a date, a companion or an activity partner, or that you will meet any of our members in person. The Website merely provides an adult entertainment experience to its members.

By using this service you accept that any member profiles, messages and communication may not be genuine and the service is for entertainment purposes only.

Entertainment purposes

By claiming to have fake profiles for entertainment purposes, the site can legally use that excuse for having chatbots and/or chat moderators operate fake profiles. It is even admitted in the Terms of Use that there is no guarantee of genuine contact between the website’s users. Many rip-off websites use this technique to cover the presence of a chat scam. Users will never meet these people in real life, and the Terms of Use confirm that.

Subscription

In order to use the vast number of functions it has; users must first subscribe to Amor40.com. Without having a subscription, users can’t view media galleries, use the search function, or even read messages from other users. Payments are automatically extended and there are three different plans, ranging from €29.95/month to €15.95/month (if users decide to subscribe for a longer duration).

To cancel subscriptions, users need to present their request no less than 14 days before the renewal date of their subscription. This is common on many rip-off dating websites, and it makes the cancellation process difficult to accomplish.

Bad reputation

The website is operated by Tyche Technologies AG, a society based in Zug, Switzerland, famous for fake chat services and subscription scam websites. Amor40.com gives the same feeling as the other scam websites that we reviewed before from this company.

According to the reviews we found online, there are many users that reported having bad experiences with payments and the refund process. They stated that the company sometimes ignores requests even though users cancelled their subscriptions before the due date. It seems to be very difficult to get in touch with the company, so any request for ending a subscription plan on this site is nearly impossible, so we advise against buying a subscription here.

The conclusion from our Amor40.com review

Amor40.com is a fake chat scam, and we would like to advise our readers from using this website. If users are looking to meet real people to date, this site is not it, for it is full of chatbots that will engage in fake chats. Even if it didn’t have chatbots, there is no good reason to choose this website. Many users reported having bad experiences, and even the Terms and Conditions seemed suspicious. We advise against purchasing a subscription on this website since it’s clearly a fake chat rip-off. There are risks of it being a subscription scam.
