Introduction

UkrainianCharm.com appears to be a dating site to meet Slavic women. However, my experience says otherwise. It baffles me to see that the site’s operator decides to stay anonymous. This makes it impossible to trust them. If any problems come up, there isn’t any way for users to issue a complaint or take legal action. Furthermore, I can’t really tell if they are selling a one-time credit package or a recurring fee in a subscription format.

However, it doesn’t matter anyway. I soon found out that this site will be unlikely to fulfill users’ needs unless they’re just looking for some online fun. The ladies are way too beautiful, to the point that they all look like models. I have also read several reviews where users complain that all of the women on this platform aren’t real. The photos most likely don’t belong to the person behind the screen.

Usability and design

First impression

The site claims that someone intriguing may be waiting for users inside its pages. It promotes itself as a quality dating site, safe and discreet, where helpful and polite professionals assist if needed. It seems to target an international audience. Its domain name, paired with the girl on the front page, suggests it’s a site to find a Ukrainian woman. There isn’t any mention of fictitious profiles. However, something feels off, as the company’s operator isn’t anywhere to be seen.

Navigation

To start trying the site, users receive 20 credits. So, whatever, the members’ area immediately feels suspect. The ladies there are so beautiful, it feels unreal. Right away, users receive both a text message and a video from an incredibly gorgeous woman. However, users can’t open it unless they have at least 50 credits. This makes it feel like users are being baited to purchase these credits, even though this certainly looks like a fantasy chat rather than an authentic interaction.

Registration process

Users are invited to sign up for free, starting with a registration form on the landing page. They have to fill out their name, gender, birth date, and email address. Finally, users must create a password and agree to the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy. Once they’ve done this, they need to complete a three-part quiz. However, users can skip pretty much all the questions. They’ll get sent a confirmation email, but they don’t need to click on it to proceed to the site.

General Terms and Conditions

I couldn’t find anything in the Terms and Conditions to show the use of chat moderators.

Functions and tools

Main functions

The features I found in the navigation bar on top are: “Messages,” where users’ chat conversations are stored, as well as the media exchanged in them. Mailbox: Here, users can receive and send “Letters,” usually exchanged in a longer format than chat messages. It’s similar to having your own UkrainianCharm email. In the “Newsfeed” section, users get to see public updates from other users. In the “People” section, users can take a look at some suggested profiles and decide if they want to give them a like or strike up a conversation.

Communication tools

This dating site offers a few different ways of communicating. The messages work more like a chat, whereas the letters usually have a longer format. Then there are the video calls, where users can meet up with another user and speak to each other via camera. To start flirting, users can also send each other virtual gifts to break the ice. The problem is that the characters reply to keep users engaged, but they aren’t real. The communication isn’t genuine, and it won’t lead to an actual relationship.

Special features

This platform has no special features.

Security and data protection

Privacy policy

The Privacy Policy contains very little relevant information. It’s just a way to show that the site adheres to the legislation regarding data protection. It explains how it will use the customer’s private information for transactions, tracking user activity, marketing, ID verification, etc. Allegedly, the platform only shares these details with third parties when it’s absolutely necessary.

Security measures

The payment details seem to be properly encrypted. However, I am concerned about some malware warnings on the platform. They’re supposed to be from customer service, but I don’t know if they provide any help. After all, the site’s operator has chosen to hide their name. This makes it very risky for the user, who may not choose to take legal action if push comes to shove.

Target group analysis and matching quality

Demography

This dating site targets a specific group: men who are seeking Slavic women to date or marry. The landing page and the domain speak for themselves. Of course, this platform should only allow adults, but the site’s operator doesn’t take any proper measures to confirm users’ ages. Another target of the demographic should be the Ukrainian women in question, but I do really wonder where they are coming from. Nothing on the site seems to be designed for them.

Matchmaking algorithm

The site doesn’t have a matchmaking algorithm.

Costs and price-performance ratio

Free vs. paid functions

Free functions: When I first signed up, I received 20 complimentary credits to get started. These won’t last long, but they allow users to choose from many alternatives to initiate a conversation, as they can see in the price structure section. So the paid functions are that the credits in the users’ account wallet allow them to chat with anyone they like, view private content such as profile videos, use stickers and other media content in chats, read and send emails, and send virtual gifts.

Price structure

For $19.99, you get 150 credits at a 60% discount as a welcome offer. These credits serve as an internal currency to pay for the different services. The fee varies according to how we interact with other users. Here are some pricing examples:

Stickers in chat:5 credits
Sending photos in chat:10 credits
Opening audios in chat:10 credits
Opening videos in chat:50 credits
Opening exclusive post:50 credits
Live chat:2 credits per minute
Sending mail:The first one costs 10 credits, each following mail costs 30 credits
Opening mail:The first one is free, each following mail costs 10 credits
Opening videos in mail:50 credits per video

It’s possible to pay with either credit card, debit card, or Google Pay. It’s unclear whether this purchase would lead to auto-renewals or not. The Terms of Use say that topping up credits and subscriptions are different. However, they only offer the credit package. We wonder if this is what they are referring to as a subscription. Considering all the pros and cons, it seems too risky due to this lack of clarity.

Conclusion and recommendations

UkrainianCharm.com is a dating site that supposedly helps users connect with Slavic women and have an amazing experience. While I can’t find concrete proof that the profiles are fake, I cannot recommend this platform to anyone seeking a genuine connection.

Numerous user reviews mention interactions with fake profiles who refuse to meet them in person. Furthermore, I suspect that users may end up getting stuck in a maze of recurring payments. Since transparent information about the operator and its network is missing, I don’t think this is an honest provider offering users a legit service. Users should avoid this dating site as much as possible to steer clear of the negative experiences it may bring.
