Report on SofiaDate.com review
The online dating portal SofiaDate.com looks like a reputable choice. It also makes a promising impression. The landing page shows the screen for registration. We also read about finding matches from Eastern Europe quickly and easily. The landing page also shows some profile pictures. All images show females. Moreover, all profile pictures display very attractive women. Of course, these images also make a good impression. But there are a few other aspects to mention.
The website is not transparent. On the landing page, we read a few short facts about the site. We do not know how many people are registered here. It is also not clear what the actual service of the site is. That means we cannot evaluate the actual target group. We are also not sure what costs will develop after registration.
On the landing page, it is guaranteed that all payments are safe. This is good to know, of course. But we do not know if costs will develop for a subscription or for credits. It might be that other kinds of payment will ensue.
We are even not sure what type of dating site SofiaDate.com truly is. On the landing page, we read about finding matches. So, we assume that this site is a matchmaker. It appears to be an international matchmaker, as most female users from Eastern Europe. We assume that the main target group are single men in the USA, who are looking for a serious commitment.
There is one more aspect to mention. We assume that the profiles on the landing page are fake. The profiles only show female members. It seems that female singles, who are looking for a male match from Eastern Europe, are not a part of the site’s target group. Plus, the profiles show only very attractive female people. That makes a great impression. But it simply is not realistic that a dating site only has extremely attractive users.
The site’s operator is Astrasoft Projects LTD, which is based in Limassol, in Cyprus. We did some research on the internet. We found reviews about the website and the operating company. Former users did not have a good experience. According to the information on the internet, this website is a bad choice. The operator of this site has a bad reputation. Additionally, we must mention that Cyprus is a well-known hotspot for scammers.

Is SofiaDate.com a rip-off?
The online dating platform SofiaDate.com shows all signs of a scam. This portal lacks transparency. On the landing page, we did not find enough information to give us a good first impression. All the important details are missing. According to our experience, bad transparency is the first hint of a bad choice. During our research on the internet, we found reviews about the site and the operator. The reviews were negative. Former users did not have a good experience while using the site.
According to the information on the internet, this website is a cheeky rip-off. The site uses fake chat to increase the income of the site’s operator. We must mention a very important fact right away. We did not find proof of fake chat in the Terms and Conditions. The operator does not state the use of fictitious profiles. Fake chat operators are not mentioned, either. The operator does not even use another term for fake chat. The purpose of entertainment could have been a hint of fake chat.
But the website appears to be a legit dating site, according to the legal information. However, we checked the website. According to our impression, it is not reliable. This website shows all signs of a scam with fake chat. We cannot recommend this site, even if legal proof from the Terms and Conditions, is missing.
Besides bad transparency, there is more to be said about the content on the landing page. The advertisement contains profiles which are shown on the landing page. These profiles show female people only, which is a hint of fake profiles. Plus, these profiles do not show average-looking women. All profile pictures look like images of professional models, which is another hint.
We checked the profiles in the members´ pool. All profiles on the site look the same. We did not find a single female member that looks like an average woman. The profiles on the site might make a very promising impression. But it is, unfortunately, a clear sign of fake profiles. It is simply not realistic that a dating platform has only members who all look like models.
Additionally, the offer of the site does not fit the service. On the landing page, we read about finding accurate matches. But this is simply not possible here. While registering, we are not required to provide a single piece of personal information. We enter our contact data, and nothing more. So, a matchmaker algorithm could not find an accurate match because information is missing.
After registration, it is possible to add some more personal information. However, even this information does not allow accurate matchmaking. But the worst feature is, that this portal does not even have a matchmaking system.
The portal claims to make easy and accurate matchmaking possible. However, after registration, it is only possible to look for potential matches yourself. This leads to another negative aspect of this website. High costs will develop for using the site. Users must pay to send messages, see private pictures, and watch videos.
This is a general problem. The user must find an accurate match all by himself. Therefore, many messages must be sent. As the portal does not show actual matches, because of the missing matchmaking system, this is the only possible way to find a match. This will inevitably lead to a high number of messages.
That is one problem. Another problem is that the profiles on the site appear to be moderated. Reviews on the internet mention fake chat. We have stated our suspicion about fake profiles already. Additionally, we also mentioned our bad feeling about the trustworthiness of the platform. Plus, we also spotted some hints of fake chat.
We did not receive messages from other members. But we received notifications from the site. These notifications mention that other users are waiting for a message from us. That is another way to stimulate chats. We are asked to start a conversation. While reviewing this dating portal, we received a countless number of these notifications. Also, we received likes for our profile, which can only be fake.
We did not provide any personal information. We also did not upload a profile picture and did not verify our account. So, there is no reason to like our profile. The profile likes must be fake. According to our experience, this website is a scam. It seems that the platform generates likes for our profile, and sent us invitations to chat, in the form of notifications.
These actions will lead to an increased activity on the platform. Users will be encouraged to start a chat. Then the fake chat will be revealed, according to the reviews from former users. According to the information on the internet, it is not possible to meet real people on this site. It also seems to be impossible to meet anyone in real life.
Registration on SofiaDate.com
SofiaDate.com offers free registration for women and men. Moreover, the process of creating a profile is very easy and done within a few seconds. On the landing page, there is the screen for registration. We enter a name, a valid e-mail address, a password, and our date of birth. Additionally, we must enter the gender that we are looking for. This is all the required information to create a profile. We must also agree to the Terms and Conditions, the privacy policy, the cookies’ policy, the refund policy, and the community standards.
There is a problem with registration. This problem appears as the portal claims to be a legit matchmaker for international dating. We will reflect upon this problem extensively, later. But for now, we must mention our impression. This dating site claims to make accurate matchmaking possible. But to find an accurate match, the algorithm used to find those potential partners, requires information.
Usually, this information would be provided while registering. That is not the case here. We also do not have to provide more personal details after registration. So, this website simply cannot find accurate matches.
By the way, after registration, it turns out that this website does not even use a search algorithm. According to our experience, this website makes a bad impression. We assume that accurate matchmaking is not possible. There are reviews on the internet, from former users, who share our opinion. However, this section is all about registration. We will mention more details about the service of the site, in the next section of this review.
Regarding registration, there is one more point to mention. Verification is optional, which is another negative aspect. An optional verification process leads to leaking data and a lack of protection. Additionally, it increases the risk of fake profiles. This website does not make a reliable impression at all. We have a very bad feeling about this website.
Members’ area on SofiaDate.com
Registration on SofiaDate.com takes only a few seconds. We completed registration without verification, which is a negative aspect. According to our experience, verification is an important feature to ensure the safety of users. A missing verification process leads to fake profiles and leaking data. Our first stop is the members´ pool, in which we see all profiles and their profile pictures.
Therefore, all new members can see all the personal information about other members, without verifying our own account. The same will apply to all the personal information that we provide on the site. However, leaking data, and lack of protection is not the worst part of our review.
Before we mention our impression regarding the use of the site, we must highlight the design, and handling of this portal. The portal has a modern appearance. Also, the design creates a good overview. On the left side of the interface, we see all the different areas of the platform. There we see our profile settings, the inbox, our notifications, and the search function.
The smart design and the good overview make handling very easy. Additionally, the portal offers a tutorial for new members. Thanks to this feature, we will get all the required information to use this website properly. Regarding these aspects, the website makes a good impression. It is easy to handle and has an appealing appearance.
Unfortunately, these are the only positive features on this portal. The website appears to be a scam with fake chat. There are many hints of a moderated chat. Before we will mention these, we must mention a general problem with this site. This portal claims to be an international matchmaker. So, the users of the site are looking for a serious commitment. The users also do not want to fool around. They want to meet potential partners. But this is simply not possible here.
The platform does not allow its customers to provide enough personal information. So, the matchmaker algorithm cannot find accurate matches because the required information is missing. But there is more. This website does not use a matchmaker system at all.
The members´ pool shows all users of the site. We can filter the members´ pool. But these filters apply to the appearance of the matches only. In brief, this website claims to be a matchmaker, but it is not. This site allows you to chat with attractive women. According to our impression, the profiles on the site are fake and moderated. Therefore, the chance of meeting a real match is low to zero. Reviews on the internet agree with our opinion.
The fact that the actual service of the site does not fit the advertisement, is one problem. But we spotted a few hints of fake chat. We will start with our impression of fake profiles. The profiles on the landing page, already, looked like fakes to us. The profiles in the members´ pool strengthened our feeling.
All profiles on the site show very attractive women. We checked a few pages of the portal’s community. We did not find one member who looks like an average user. All profiles show people who appear to be professional models. This might create a promising impression for some users. But it is an obvious hint of fake profiles.
Moreover, we received notifications, and likes, for our profile. The likes for our profiles must be fake. It is simply not realistic that a new member, with an unverified account, and no personal information, receives one like after another. Also, the notifications appear to be fake. We receive notifications that other members are waiting for our message.
So, the notifications encourage us to take the first step. This is a smart alternative to a commonly used fake chat. During our review, we did not receive messages from other members. But we found reports on the internet from former members who did. All signs point to fake chat. We assume that the notifications and chat invitations are fake.
After starting a conversation, we will chat with fake chat operators, and not with real members. Plus, we also assume that fake chat operators will not identify as a fictitious person. The reason for our point of view is that the profiles on the site are not labelled as fake, either.
Costs will develop after registration. We assume that there is a purpose to the moderation. The goal is to increase the income of the operator. Regarding the fake chat, we must mention a few more aspects. We were not able to find legal proof of moderation. The operator does not mention anything in the legal information.
The Terms and Conditions do not mention moderators or animators. We also did not find a notification about the use of fake profiles, which show fictitious people. The Terms and Conditions do not even mention the purpose of entertainment. According to the legal information, this site is a reliable dating site. But according to our experience, it is a rip-off with fake chat.
Another detail that points to an unreliable dating platform, is the operator. The company, Astrasoft Projects Ltd, from Cyprus, which operates this portal, has a bad reputation. Besides that, the company is located at a well-known hotspot for scammers.
Costs on SofiaDate.com
Registration is free. But soon after registration, costs will develop for using the site. The portal does not offer a premium membership. So, there is no risk of falling into a subscription trap. However, the portal appears to be a rip-off with fake chat. According to our impression, it is a waste of time and money. There are many signs that point to an unreliable portal.
This site has a bad reputation, so does the operator. The portal has bad transparency. The landing page shows erotic content, but no useful information. After registration, we received countless notifications about chat invitations. These notifications are a part of the trick.
We assume that the profiles are moderated by fake chat operators. But we assume that they do not take the first step. Usually, fake chat operators actively stimulate users to chat. Here, they play the inactive role. However, we found some information on the internet that describe otherwise. Some former customers had been contacted by other members right after registration. In general, this is an obvious sign of fake chat.
The goal of moderation is obvious as well. Moderation increases the operator’s income. Costs will develop for sending messages and watching videos. This portal contains videos of their members. Most of these videos show people who are obviously models, doing a photo shoot. As we see it, this further proof that actual matchmaking is not possible.
50 “credits” are required to watch a video. On average, the videos have a playtime of 30 seconds to one minute. Two credits are needed to send a message. In fact, two credits are needed to start a chat. While chatting, two additional credits will be charged, per minute. So, the rates for using the website will increase dramatically. Furthermore, it does not matter if the user or the fictitious chat partner is typing, two credits will be charged if one person is typing.
Therefore, while waiting for a reply, the user will be charged. More options, besides sending a message, include sending images or stickers. Five credits are needed to send a sticker, 10 credits are needed to send an image. Again, during an active chat, two credits are charged per minute.
The credits come at a high cost. There is a discount for the first purchase. 35 credits cost 2.99 USD. Normally, 35 credits cost 12.99 USD. In fact, the costs for credits do not appear too high. But 35 credits are spent easily, and very quickly. While chatting for 10 minutes, 20 credits will be charged already, for just typing. According to our impression, the rates on this portal are extremely high. Plus, the way of charging the customers is very cheeky. Especially for people who cannot type fast on a computer keyboard. They have a huge disadvantage.
Conclusion from our SofiaDate.com experience
SofiaDate.com is a scam with fake chat. The profiles on the site are obviously fake. Plus, the portal uses a few cheeky tricks to encourage new members to chat. We found some reviews about fake chat. Former users explain that they received messages from other profiles. That is a clear sign of moderation. We did not receive messages, but we did receive notifications.
The notifications stated that other members are waiting for our messages. So, the notifications stimulate users to chat. However, we assume that the profiles are moderated. Therefore, after taking the first step, the user will chat with fake chat operators.
We must mention that legal proof is missing. The site’s operator does not mention moderation in the Terms and Conditions. However, the operator has a bad reputation, and is in a hotspot for scammers. The operating company is Astrasoft Projects LTD, which is based in Limassol, in Cyprus.
Furthermore, we must mention the extremely high costs for using the site. Costs will develop for sending messages, stickers, or images. The user will not only be charged for sending messages, but also for waiting for a reply.

Sofia date. com is a total rip off! after six months of chatting, it wanted to come to America and stay with me and marriage and so forth. It wanted to get a Visa out of Poland, so I bought an expensive ring for it to trade for cash to get everything needed ! Then after getting it,the person (supposedly beautiful 43 year old woman). All of a sudden doesn't want me to have her (It) personal information and that money is long gone for nothing, except the site raking in cash for outrageous credits ! Totally BS !
i Just was Scammed out of over 17000 dollars on this site and currently trying to get my Money Back thru my Capital one Credit Card they are Investigating and retrieving my Funds this is Unbelievable this is a Felony theft by Deception im rereporting them as we speak
I will kindly advise to anyone reading this to stay away from sofia dates and jolly romance sites. Both are massive scam and they are hunting for ur money. I met this girl on sofia dates and obviously they make u buy credits to communicate. Which i did few times and slowly piled up to nearly 280 buks. This site has a ridiculous rule that u keep buying till 5000 credits and then they will only allow to share her details? What kinda a bull crap? And another 50’0 credits for a REQUEST😂😂😂snuck on reviews and i found a poor guy actually went through with all and they only offer him some hoax email ends with mail.to. They sont have ladies mobiles. I dont think these are real firls. Probably bold old guy tying as a girl sitting in his room. Apparently these girls has no job. Always online. Isnt that suprsing? Me and this girl i think whis real trying to share details in every single method possible but site cuts off by я*********doing like this. Maybe the girls doing it. May be they have a deal with it. Thse ppl operating from cyrus and there no way we know whi they are. If u ask any girl to talk via wtsapp or email they will be ohhh it’s scary or on dont kw u that BS. Just to keep u paying. Soo guys long story short It’s Bloody hoax and i hope these ppl will be paying for these sins soon. Stay away from them. .
This site and MySpecialDates.com are the exact same site for the girls. I seen that the same girls were on both sites so I reach out to them and they thought that I had two profiles on the same site. I think that there is some sort of contract that the girls have to sign that keep them from sharing contact info outside of the way the site manages it. Also, I was recommended another girl by a lady I told I wasn't interested in because she was too old for me (she was only a couple of years younger than my mother). The user id she gave me didn't match the girl on MySpecialDates, but did match the girl's id on SofiaDate. Also, through image searching I've found some of the girls on this site's social media and contacted them there, attempting to circumvent the site, but once it is reveled that we've met on the dating site, they go silent on the social media and don't respond to anymore messages. This leads me to believe that the girls are real, just bound by a pretty strict contract or are working for the site. In response to the guy that talked about the older women looking too good, if you run diagnostics on the pictures of a lot of the women on the site, their profile pics are photoshopped to all hell. And if you do a visual inspection, you can tell that some of them aren't even done that well if you are looking for it. In response to the guy who talked about how well the women write compared to your experience with Russian/Ukrainian women. Almost all of the women on this site use translation software, at least some of the time. Their first few lines of dialog are canned responses that they worked with translators to write. They have a few canned letters that they worked with translators to write and will send them off as soon as they are made aware of your account. I've had girls send me their canned letters after a long period of me ignoring them in hopes that it would kindle some interest. Its obvious when you hear them speak in audio/video messages that their command of the English language isn't that great. In response to those who talked about noticing them using plural pronouns and seeing that as proof that the girls are working for an agency. If you talk with any of the girls for a while you'll notice sometimes that will sometimes mess up their use of pronouns, using he to refer to their mother or she when talking about their dog that they have already told you was a male. I've even seen a girl completely flip I and you for an entire paragraph so it read like she was speaking for me talking to her. I think this is an issue with the translation software that the company gives them and not proof of some conspiracy. I actually find it comforting to hear that someone actually met a girl from the site, and even more comforting that he didn't have a good experience of it. He could still be a plant from this Irish company that runs the site, but given how poorly they handle everything else, I doubt that they would be so stealthy with a review. Anyhow, that's my experience so far, I've got a girl I've been talking to for a while and I'll let you all know how it goes when we meet.
Bullshit site. None of the girls smoke or drink.
The site is bogus most of the profiles pictures are taken at the same set and the wardrobe is the same indicating a modelling company
Definitely a scam. It seems that all the ladies have masters degrees, not one of them ever smokes or drinks, and they are all as beautiful as supermodels. Are we really supposed to believe that they are all chatting from Kyiv, Lviv or Odessa, knowing what terrible things are happening in those cities? Before ending my membership after 48 hours, I used up my free credits (which stopped mid chat) asking one single and childless lady about the situation in Kyiv. She let slip that it was "all going on outside OUR window". These ladies are either operating from a supervised office or artificial intelligence is providing the chat. When something on the internet doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. Give this website a wide berth.
I actually traveled to Odessa in October 2021 to see my woman, that I chatted with since June. She was extremely nice and passionate in the chat, wanted to see me in person. She insisted that I purchase a meeting package at $3500, claiming that we will have a time of our life, arranged by the meeting agency. it included a translator, which I didn’t need, since I speak fluent Russian, but she was adamant about using the agency, mostly for her peace of mind. Anyway, it turned out to be a total disaster. She would not let me touch her, like holding hands, hugging, etc. she explained that she had abusive husband, and since then afraid of man’s touch. Next, she didn’t take any vacation time to be with me, as promised, claiming that her boss insisted that she worked overtime. So, in 2 weeks I only saw her 6 times in the evening only. I wonder what other people experienced, who actually traveled to see their woman.
This site got me too! I was on this site for almost 5 months. I met an incredibly beautiful Ukrainian woman that told me she loved me and wanted to marry me. I’m 47 and she is 32. Everything was great until I asked if we could chat somewhere else that was free. Then all the excuses started from her. Like she can only get this website on her phone even though she can take pictures and upload videos to this site. I was able to give her my name and email. She typed back my name so I knew she had it correct. Then she couldn’t get on Facebook then she couldn’t find me. There are very few people in the world with my name. These women chat with so men all day that they ask you the same questions 5-6 times after you discussed this topic for over 1 hour. They are on duty for a shift for 20 hours per day. I took screen shots of all of her excuses why she couldn’t contact me elsewhere and the lies I caught her in. She was absolutely beautiful and had an amazing personality. I was going to post her pictures and I’D number but I really did fall in love with her and don’t want to ruin her because I’m pretty sure this is her only job and she is raising a 13 yr old daughter on her own. I read these reviews about 1 week after I was on this site. She was so beautiful that I had to try. Save your money. You’re just another paying customer to them
Negative comments are true. First, I have never met a Ukrainian or a Russian girl to write such perfect English, and on this site ALL of them do. Then, as I was looking for a Christian girl, I asked my chat "Olga from Odessa" who was wearing a cross around her neck what church in Odessa she frequented. She did not answer this question. Any real Christian girl would have been happy to tell about her church. Then when I suggested to contact me by email for privacy purposes, I got a nasty negative answer using the pronoun WE, meaning that there were overseers to chats. A real girl would have no reason to refuse email exchanges. Then I noticed that she answered all chats right away, at all times, like she was on duty. At this point I realized it was a scam and cancelled my profile as fast as I could.
Oh hell yeah it's a scam. But honestly, anyone who is fooled by it, deserves it. They don't even try to make it seem legit. The women are mostly supermodels. If you put in that you are looking for a woman from 55-60, you'll get a selection of women claiming to be that age, but who appear to be 30-40. Super hot, sexy bodies, which they flaunt. Yeah, these women are having a hard time finding a man who speaks their language in their own country. lol Test it. Put up a profile with no photo, and saying that you are old, fat, and that your hobbies include torturing kittens and raping goats. Within a short time, you'll have young hotties hitting you up, telling you how they loved your photo and that based on your profile, you seem like the man they've been looking for all their lives. They don't care how old, ugly, poor or stupid you are. They just want love. And by that, they mean they want to serve you day and night, and especially at night. They mostly have graduate degrees, write poetic English, and have polished, professional photos. On the plus side, if you have nothing else to do and want some fun, you can register for free. You get 40 free credits (which comes to 20 messages) after which you have to buy them (at about 75 cents per message!). But you can play around for a while, then create a new profile. All it takes is a free email account. I suggest you don't post your own photo. You don't need to post a photo at all actually. You'll find that any woman you contact (or who contacts you) will quickly fall in love with you and want to know things like "how long has it been since you had a woman's lipstick on you?" or "Do you like a woman who is passionate?" The sad thing is, there must be men who fall for this crap, because this site has been around for a long time, and many others like it. Which means they are being exploited because they are lonely, and that makes me sad.
Well, Sofia Date got me too. I went into it with reluctance, however I (once again) didn't follow my "gut" feeling about a dating site. I spent the money to buy the credis (well over $1,000.00), purhased gifts (expensive/marked up extreme). Me and "Juliya" agreed to communicate off the site, however the site demanded that I spend at least 4000 credits communicating with "her." I did so, and I received her "email" address (mail.to). There was a brief communication via email (2 days), and then guess what? "Juliya" disappeared and so did her "profile" on Sofia Date. What a fool am I????
Yes, it is a scam. I just got out of there...The site does not allow for you or the 'ladies' to exchange your email or contact, even if you hide some characters in the message, therefore, pointless. They just want your money. Even if these women are real, they are working for the site for a comission. Plus, it is really hard to believe that these women have nothing else to do then to be in front of their computers 24/7, till 4 o'clock in the morning and over, don't they have a job??...ah, i forgot, they work for them!
I have only been on here for a short time and have been communicating with one woman. I have asked her to contact me via Skype or email but she refuses and says she cant . I am also getting requests from women half my age which sets off alarm bells. I have also asked for proof that she is who she says she is but nothing. Also her use of English language when replying seems to be not from a person whose English is not their first language which makes me think that someone else is replying
Never trust ANY site that requires you to buy credits!!
This site is not to be trusted. It is based in Ireland but features Russian/Ukrainian women. There is a monetary reservation or limit that must be met before direct contact can be made, rather than user consent. Meaning, you are required to drop thousands of $ US before you can request, at an additional cost, your love interests contact information. This is guised as protection under the international bride act from the US (you look it up), but the site is based in Belfast where US law has no jurisdiction. Let that sink in. There may be real girls, and conversation can be stimulating. I have had video messages with them saying my name. However, chances are they are just good at their jobs and are receiving a commission on keeping suitors interested and buying credits. Ultimately, its expensive entertainment without the chance of being nailed for prostitution in the US. The GF experience without the physical experience. Just save your money, travel to the country of your liking and sample the local fare.
Spot on. The profiles on there are exact same profiles on as many as 6 other websites (Amourfeel.... Rondova are 2 of those sites) even e mailed customer support and only got set answered reply...... Avoid at all cost
