OurHookupHaven.com came across as a dating platform for casual encounters. At least, that is if we rely on the domain name. However, the pictures on the landing site didn’t really scream “hookup.” The girls in the images were beautiful and looked fairly innocent. The texts introducing the service subtly mention opportunities to flirt, but not real dates. A Dutch company called White Mountain Online Solutions BV is behind this portal. They are based in Krimpen aan den IJssel.

The company claims that hundreds of people join this unknown website on a daily basis. Such statements tend to be a red flag hinting it to be a scam. That is because it promises that users will find someone to date with very quickly. Such a promise is highly suspicious. When we took a closer look at the fine print, we noticed that users were warned about a fake chat service that resolves around fake profiles. However, everything was casually mentioned as if there were just a handful of fictitious accounts.

For our review, we signed up and then examined the Terms of Use. Just as expected, there were no authentic users on the platform. The legal disclaimer was also quite explicit about the phony profiles. Users are supposed to be able to identify them because of a tiny heart icon next to the profiles. This is unreasonable to expect from normal users with little to no experience in using online dating services.

Unmarked fake profiles

When we were given access to the members’ area, we saw that many of the profiles looked like models. Other photos were totally conventional, but their introductions were extremely explicit. Every single bio contained a couple of pictures and a brief text that was designed to recreate a fantasy in our imagination. If you spend a little time studying them, you will soon realize the structure is cookie-cutter. Given our experience, we knew they were not real.

However, some of these red flags are too subtle for most people. The Terms and Conditions explain that fantasy profiles are marked with a heart icon. However, that heart was nowhere to be found. There was a little flame next to each profile. It would seem that they might have changed the image of the icon. None of that contributes to creating any more transparency or safety for the users. Users have no chance of knowing if a website like this uses a fake chat service or not.

Our inbox was bursting with sex proposals, lusty photos, and seductive messages from at least a dozen girls. Our profile was empty, so these messages obviously came from fantasy characters. When we tried to reply to them in the chat, we were prompted to buy a message package immediately. The messages cost between 0.89 and 2 dollars. Prices depend on the number of messages that we want to purchase in one go. It is a very expensive model for the user, but very profitable for the company.

OurHookupHaven.com is a deceitful online dating platform. It actually can’t help users find any dates since there are only fake characters on this site. Naive visitors can get lured into a rip-off where communicating is extremely expensive. There is no point in talking to the fantasy profiles since a face-to-face encounter is impossible. At least, there are no recurring costs. White Mountain Online Solutions BV is the operator behind this portal. We have written many reviews about their scams in previous reviews.
