ModernPolygamy.com is a dating site for people who wish to live a polygamous lifestyle. This is not a site for casual hookups or group sex aficionados. The website is not designed for those interested in polyamorous relationships either because polygamy involves marriage with multiple partners. These modern polygamists, both male and female, are looking to create a lifelong commitment. This portal was created by Modern Polygamy Inc. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find out where in the US this company was operating from.
The landing page features some non-explicit photos and has a modern look that invites visitors to register for free. The site includes a few texts that explain what polygamy is, and how it involves long-term intentions from the start. Thus, the website promotes itself as a polygamy matchmaking service. There are also links to different articles about polygamy topics that are featured on the website’s blog.
We don’t like the fact that the company can only be contacted through an online form on the website. This is usually pretty risky if users ever need to take legal action. However, it seems like this portal could be a legit source for those interested in polygamous conduct. For our review, we created an inconspicuous profile, and we examined the Terms and Conditions very carefully. The profiles and their stories seem genuine. We couldn’t find any negative online reviews relating to former users’ experiences on the web either, so the website didn’t come across as a rip-off.

They started out as a monogamous couple who became increasingly curious about polygamy. The creators never really found a reliable service for those seeking a polygamous lifestyle, so they decided to take matters into their own hands.

According to ModernPolygamy.com, they reject on average 50% of all profiles. They have a strict set of rules, and they also make it clear this isn’t a website to find hookups. User profiles will be invisible to others if there is no photo. Explicit images are not allowed. We didn’t find anything sketchy in the Terms and Conditions that would indicate that images and personal information would be exploited on this or any other websites. It also appears that this is the only website managed by Modern Polygamy Inc., so it seems like they are wholeheartedly dedicated to this niche.
What probably convinced us the most that this rite was legit was reading through stories written by the members. They wrote about how they ended up wishing for a polygamous relationship. Some of them come from a Mormon background, others are from African countries where polygamy is common, whereas others figured out that this lifestyle seemed pragmatic and that it was aligned with their philosophical beliefs. Either way, the stories are compelling and unique, which is almost never seen in dating scams. The photos also come across as very realistic.
Limited experience
That being said, it is also true that ModernPolygamy.com launched in February 2022, so the service is very new. It is possible that there hasn’t been enough time for users to try it out in the long run. However, reactions to dating rip-offs are usually pretty quick. The only thing that makes us a little on the fence about it is the fact that we couldn’t find out where the company is registered. There is no way to contact the company, other than through a form on the website. Our final verdict is mostly positive, though, but we would encourage you to be a little cautious either way, as we usually do.

If you read the Reddit comments and trustpilot.com reviews for this site, you will discover that the site has a long record of not verifying users with legitimate purpose on the site and are being restricted likely due to the fact that they aren't single females, who get automatically verified for 30 days. While it is understandable why this approach was taken, what doesn't make sense is the owner/administrators really flaky responses to the support requests regarding extensive wait periods for verification, which is the impenetrable barrier to any communication whatsoever with any other users on the site.
Following is our review of the site on trustpilot.com for modernpolygamy.com and the responses from the owner: Created profile for wife and myself as a couple on the site. Uploaded photos of us individually, as well as together. Completed profile and performed the verification process as outlined on the site. It has been months, and we are still waiting to be verified so that we can message any users at all. We also tried sending direct messages to the administrator's Reddit account and emailed support, but we never receive any response. *post reply edit (12/11/2024)* We followed the verification instructions "exactly" as they were written and made sure the TV channel in the background was neither controversial or anything a child cannot watch. We aren't expecting to have any exceptions made for us, but we would also ask to not be ignored when contacting support about the status of the verification process. *Third edit to review (12/20/2024)* As of now, there is a site sale notice being displayed on the modernpolygamy site for the sale of the entire site, reddit account and membership accounts. I also responded via the site contact form per the administrator's request with our username as directed in their response. As of this edit, our account continues to remain in the non-verified state. Based on this new information, we assume we will have to either wait for a new owner to continue support in order to be verified or the site will likely be taken down and membership will be impossible at that point. *Fourth edit (12/21/2024)* Owner of the site is apparently petty and vindictive and would rather delete a user than correct their own failures. We will just wait for the site to be bought out while we search for an alternative. This process will not be compromised, but we can not go back and forth with every person that doesn't read instructions before hitting submit or has something objectionable on their profile and wants to argue about their free account. They tell you to pay and post your profile. I did that and I messaged about 10 women over 4 days ago and have not received one reply. Not even a "no" reply. If I don't get any replies by day 5, I'm canceling my subscription. It's hard to believe that people who want polygamy aren't interested at all in what we have to offer, or they could at least answer with, "I'm not interested."
