Report for CasualHookup.com.au review

CasualHookup.com.au purports to have plenty of singles looking to hook up, all over Australia. In fact, making it a cinch for the user to find suitable dates and meet up. Everything looks very promising, and the landing page invites visitors to sign up and get started. Satisfaction is not far off, apparently. So far, so good, but delving a little deeper, we soon found a disclaimer, which suggests a rip off.  User profiles are shared between websites on the same network.

This may sound innocuous. But in our experience, it is a tell-tale sign that there is a high chance that profiles are misused, and that this site is a scam. Infinite Connections Inc is the company responsible for this site. They are based in Quebec, Canada. The site operates an automatic re-billing system if users want to use the website’s chat features. To cancel, it is necessary to give notice at least 24 hours beforehand. Every membership is basically a subscription. Complaints have been made that this is a subscription rip-off, and cancelling may turn out to be difficult or impossible.

Details on the CasualHookup.com.au review

“Join our club today and experience something wild & phenomenal!” gushes the landing page. They state that the site is “the best place for casual fun you can find in Australia.” What could be better, especially as there is a “100% Free basic membership”? However, it goes on to say that “charges will accrue if you purchase a premium membership, which is offered upon completion of your profile.” And little happens without payment. The membership fees are automatically deducted from the account given to the website. But users find themselves unable to cancel, making this a subscription rip-off.

The operator of this site is Infinite Connections Inc. Based in Quebec, Canada, they are well-known in the dating world. However, reviews show that they run an array of dubious platforms. They promise much, but they have a rip-off reputation. These platforms share user profiles across their network. In our experience, this is an easy scam to fake a growing and active community. New users may not be aware that their personal details and photos are shared on other websites.

Excerpt from the Terms & Conditions (as of 16/05/2022)

The Service may provide (or third parties may provide) links, including without limitation, banner ads and hyperlinks, to other World Wide Web sites or resources. Because we have no control over such sites and resources, you acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for the availability of such external sites or resources, and do not endorse and are not responsible or liable for any content.

An extremely fishy deal

The fact that the company states it has no control over the sites and resources that feed into CasualHookup.com.au, makes it possibly a fake chat operator scam. The company may not even agree with the information that is coming into the site. Nobody seems to know what is going on, and certainly not the user.

The negative publicity that the company has gained over time, certainly does not lead the user to feel like giving the benefit of the doubt. Their plethora of other websites, and how they operate, inspires great distrust. Despite the operator’s insistence that no moderators or bots are used, if they have no control over other websites that access the platform, they cannot guarantee that fake chats may be going on. On top of this, the subscriptions can turn out to be impossible to cancel, making this site a rip-off from top to bottom.

The conclusion from our CasualHookup.com.au review

The free membership at CasualHookup.com.au is only lure to sign up for a repeating subscription. This must be cancelled in timely fashion. But in some cases, this is impossible. The website is a subscription scam that gets murkier. The operator also states that user profiles are shared with other websites, which they have no power over. From our experience and the experience of former users, our review shows that users will be deeply disappointed.  A rip-off of the worst kind.
