Report for TrulyMatching.com review

The online dating platform TrulyMatching.com seems like a great choice for people looking for a serious relationship. The landing page presents a loving black couple. It offers very little information regarding pricing, which we usually regard as a sign of a lack of transparency. The site is managed by Spotnet Advertising LTD, a company based in Essex, in the UK. As we were writing this review, we could not confirm that this platform is a scam, but we would not recommend signing up either.

The Terms and conditions did not reveal the existence of fake profiles, and we were not bombarded with messages upon entering the members’ area. However, this operator is unknown, and we have not found any reviews by users. We find this rather strange, considering the number of members that seem to be on this website. When we tried contacting one user, we received no reply at all. In fact, this is a good sign, since fake operators tend to be quick to reply. We still advise caution, though.

TrulyMatching.com looks like a legit dating platform at first sight, however, we are on the fence about it. The website seems to target people looking for a committed relationship. The landing page shows very limited information about the services offered, and nothing about the pricing structure. Given our experience in this space, this was the first indication which made us skeptical about this platform. For this reason, we decided to dig deeper, and write a review for our readers.

Details on the TrulyMatching.com review

The platform TrulyMatching.com advertises with free registration and access to true matches. As usual, we created a simple profile, and examined the Terms of Use. Our boring profile attracted zero attention from other users. This is positive since it does not seem to be a fake chat.

Even when we actively messaged other users, we were ignored. This is as it should be. The basic membership allows you to browse user profiles and send or read messages. This is also promising. However, it is possible to upgrade to a VIP subscription, which could be a rip-off. We found no user reviews online, and Spotnet Advertising LTD, based in Essex, is an unknown operator.

Risky subscription

Upon registration, we are offered the possibility of upgrading to a VIP membership. This includes access to special features. This includes advanced matches, audio chat, or being able to browse the members’ area anonymously. A special offer tempts us with a 1-week trial for 1 euro. However, we are also warned that all memberships automatically recur at €44 per month, until canceled. Our concern is that many dodgy companies in this space use these special trials as bait for a subscription rip-off.

Very often, these recurring memberships are extremely difficult to cancel. Users can spend months trying to complete the cancellation process or trying to contact the operator. For this reason, we recommend being very cautious about giving your card information to an operator who does not have a well-established track record in the industry. The website was created in 2022. So, it is new. But considering the large number of alleged users, it is strange that no member has written an online review about them.

Excerpt from the Terms & Conditions (as of 24/07/2022)

Subscriber hereby further authorizes Site to charge subscriber’s chosen payment method for any and all additional purchases of services and entertainment provided by the site.

If you are taking advantage of a trial period through a credit card, please be aware of the following: Site might request and your bank will immediately put a “Reserved Funds” hold on your credit card for the amount of the subscription plan you have selected. If the trial is cancelled within the timeframe allowed by the website, it typically takes the banking system 7 to 10 days to remove the credit card hold from these funds.

Please understand that Site has no way to remove this hold. During the trial period and for a minimum of 7 to 10 days after you cancel, these funds are considered out of your bank even though technically they are still there, and you could overdraw or exceed the limits of your account.

Legit profiles?

Something that was encouraging was that the users do look like real people, with believable bios and photos. Nothing in the terms and conditions indicates that the company creates fake profiles. However, it is subtly stated that the platform provides “services and entertainment”. The word “entertainment” makes us skeptical again about the nature of the website. We consider it hard to tell if this is a real online dating site, or if it is designed to scam users.

The conclusion from our TrulyMatching.com review

TrulyMatching.com is an online dating platform which looks legit. The Terms of Use do not seem to hide anything. However, we are concerned about the fact that the operator is unknown, and no users seem to have any experience with them either. There is a risk of falling into a subscription rip-off trap. The use of the word “entertainment” in the legal terms, raises a red flag. We cannot prove TrulyMatching.com is a scam, but we cannot recommend it either.
