Report for TemptingTown.com review

At first glance, TemptingTown.com seems like a casual dating website, but upon a closer inspection, we discovered that the site acknowledges the use of fake profiles for entertainment purposes. No real-life encounter is possible with these profiles. In other words, users will only experience a fake chat whose only purpose is to make them spend money. Indeed, “fake chat” operators control the fake profiles to increase the income of the operator.

The company responsible for this unethical service is Meteor Interactive BV, from Utrecht, in the Netherlands. They are not new to us, as we have had bad experiences with other websites from the same company. This website also received negative online reviews from former users who complain that it is indeed nothing but a cheeky scam.

Chances are you might not know this if you are visiting TemptingTown.com for the first time, but this website is actually an exact copy of many other online scams run by the same dating service. This is a classic fake chat scam, where “fake chat” operators run fake profiles to lure users into buying a costly illusion. The pattern is always the same. You are likely to lose large sums of money in fruitless discussions that will never lead to a date.

Details on the TemptingTown.com review

The online dating portal TemptingTown.com advertises as the perfect place to find a chat partner from thousands of connected profiles. Note that the site does not use the word “dating”, but only “chat”, which makes all the difference, as the chances of meeting a real person are virtually non-existent here.

Our evaluation reveals that the site uses a crude fake chat scam. This did not come as a surprise, as we have had some experience with this operator in the past. Our research for this review shows that the information on the landing page is misleading. Registration is free, but costs will occur for the use of the site, which cannot be avoided. Users must purchase “credits” to send messages, which will only be read by fake chat operators. This website is nothing but a rip-off with a fake chat.

We found the following note in the Terms and Conditions

You also understand that this is a fantasy entertainment Service and that (i) the profiles are fictional and your interactions will be with operators.

Fictional profiles

In its Terms of Service (TOS), TemptingTown.com clearly acknowledges the use of moderators to encourage conversation trough fake profiles. However, most users find this to be deceptive as there is no possibility to actually date these individuals. As we see it, fake profiles are merely created to trick users into believing that they can actually have a date, while luring them into spending money in the fake chat. This experience is a clear rip-off.

The operator behind this unscrupulous cheeky scam is Meteor Interactive BV, a company based in Utrecht, in the Netherlands. This company has a terrible reputation on the web, as we found many negative reviews from former users complaining that this website is a blatant rip-off with a fake chat.

The costly “credits” system

If it were free, there would be no problem. But users must buy “credits” in order to interact with other members. That’s how the scam works, obviously. These credits are sold in packs. No matter how much you pay; a single message will always cost you at least $1! You may be rich, and decide that this beautiful woman is well worth the money. Unfortunately, spending a lot won’t increase your chances of getting a date, as the system only shows you fake profiles.

The conclusion from our TemptingTown.com review

Our review shows that TemptingTown.com cannot be trusted at all. Users who did not read the TOS may not know about this, but it is a patent scam with a fake chat where fake operators run fake profiles in order to lure users into buying an illusion. We strongly advise against registering on this website. There is no one to meet here, only money to lose. All in all, it is a terrible experience.

I AGREE WITH THE ABOVE REVIEW OF TEMPTINGTOWN. THE SITE IS DEFINITELY A SCAM AND EVEN THOUGH THE WORDING TELLS YOU OF ITS INTENTIONS SOMEWHAT, THE MAIN IDEA OF IT IS NOT FOR YOU TO MET SOMEONE BUT FOR YOU TO PART WITH YOUR BOUGHT CREDITS INTO THEIR POCKETS. THEY LEAD YOU INTO A CONVERSATION EASILY AND BY CONTINUING THEIR COME ON KEEP YOU BUYING CREDITS………..
