SteamyDates.com is an online dating website that is filled with fictitious profiles. However, anyone who enters the site would easily believe it is a place for finding a quick hookup. The females presented in the members’ area are AI-generated as admitted by the operator. They are supposed to be labeled as fictitious by certain letters (such as UP, meaning “Unreal Person”). However, those labels were missing, and other labels were used to categorize them, such as “Jade Affair.” It is unreasonable to expect new users to know what any of this means, as people rarely bother to read the Terms and Conditions.

The company behind this deceitful fake chat service is called Service Development LTD. They are based in Nicosia, Cyprus. We have written numerous reviews about sketchy online dating companies registered on that Mediterranean island. So given our experience, their location was a red flag.

Usability and design

First impression

Based on first impressions, this site seemed quite bland. On the landing page, I saw a picture of a beautiful young woman posing in lingerie. The domain name clearly indicates that this website serves as an online platform for casual hookups, and the images on the landing page support this. Further down the page, I saw what appeared to be thumbnail-sized photos of people. It is unclear if they are members of the site or just models posing as members to make this site seem believable.

However, the people in these photos are attractive and are made to seem as if they are eager to hook up, which is highly suspicious. I have a hard time believing this website is legit. According to the site, exciting connections are just one click away and should be easy-peasy.

Navigation

The operator of this site encourages new users to add a profile picture, but it is not necessary to do so. However, users must write a five-word presentation sentence to proceed. Once they complete this, they can immediately see all the photos from other users. All the other users seemed to be extremely attractive. After registering, I received several messages, which is a major sign of a fake chat service since I had no profile picture, yet people were sending flirty messages.

Navigating through the website was easy, and the ads at the bottom of the page weren’t very distracting. At the top of the page, users can find the main navigation bar with the main features whereas at the bottom of the page, there is information on everything company-related.

Registration process

While registering for an account, users need to provide some information. The whole process takes two minutes at most. Users start by providing an email address, age, and a chosen password. To complete the process, users also need to agree to the Terms and Conditions. Once a user accesses the members’ area, they must create a username, provide a location, choose their sexual orientation, and verify that they are human through a CAPTCHA test. Once the user clicks on “Save Settings,” they are ready to go.

General Terms and Conditions

The Term and Conditions leave no doubt that AI-profiles engage users in conversation. Supposedly, users can recognize AI profiles through certain labels, but this was not what I found when I experienced the site. The messages I received from several profiles were seductive, and the profiles were labelled as “Jade Affair.”

Main functions

This website looks like the typical online dating site, with some extra details that make it look a little fancier. However, it is all just for show to create the illusion of being a genuine dating website. The main features are displayed on the menu.

For instance, we have a search function to help us find the desired kind of person. We can also rate other members from 1 to 10 in a simple gamified search-like feature. The user can view the received messages in the inbox section. There is also an overview of all the updates users receive on this online dating platform, such as likes, system messages, or user chats. This is called the notifications section.

Communication tools

Despite the fact that it looks like a fancy website with multiple features, the only relevant communication tool it has is the chat feature. Users may have been given the chance to rate other users, but this is only a secondary feature. The main communication tool is the chat service. On this site, there are two sections that look like special features for communicating with other users. These features are called “Sexy Games” and “Live Cams.” However, they are not really part of the website. Instead, they merely redirect users to third party websites, so it is a little deceptive.

Supposedly, it is all for practical purposes. However, I don’t feel particularly reassured, especially regarding the use of my information by the third-party websites featured on SteamyDates.com.

Security measures

As far as I can tell, there is no mention of encryption of the transactions, even though this is the bare minimum to safely buy something online. The owner of this website didn’t even bother to come up with a sure way of verifying the user’s age. Users are easily forwarded to X-rated content that shouldn’t be available to minors, yet methods to prevent minors from joining this site are non-existent.

To put it plainly, this so-called dating site targets horny straight men seeking a hookup. Just by looking at the landing page, that is an undeniable fact. The members I got to see once I had logged in were simply gorgeous. Users must be at least 18 yeas of age since there is adult content on this site. However, the operator hasn’t put any proper system in place to verify the age of their users.

As I have explained, the live cams feature belongs to a third-party website, but users can get access to it if they have a premium membership.

According to the payment section on the website, the most popular subscription plan is the 3-month option while the 6-month plan is the best value. However, as I usually do, I have to warn my readers that these memberships get automatically renewed if users don’t cancel them through their profile settings or by sending an email to customer support.

Conclusion and recommendations

SteamyDates.com appears to be a dating website for users to easily find a one-night stand. However, after reviewing the website, I have found that the services were purely aimed at providing fake chat services where users will quickly lose money. The creators of this website admit to using AI-generated profiles to create the illusion of having active members on the site. It became evident that the site was filled with fake profiles when I was suddenly bombarded with lusty messages from the moment I logged into the site.

This service was designed by Service Development LTD, a company based in Nicosia, Cyprus. This island is a major hub for treacherous websites. It was no surprise that this online dating platform offered a dodgy subscription with recurring payments that would be hard to avoid, unfortunately.
