Report on RussianBrides.com review

RussianBrides.com doesn’t make the best first impression. Its landing page has an old-fashioned design. It seems the site operator doesn’t use the latest solutions to provide an online dating service. The same comment might apply to personal data protection too. In general, this site’s unappealing appearance creates an impression of malaise.

Moreover, the landing page doesn’t offer much information. We don’t know what type of dating site it really is. It could be a casual dating site. But after conducting an extensive review of this portal, we finally discovered what it offers. This site claims to be an international matchmaker. You can supposedly find a Russian woman to fall in love with here.

Actually, what the site offers sounds interesting. We also see profile pictures on the landing page which make a great impression. These images show very attractive women. But our first impression is that this site isn’t very reliable. And the services it claims to offer are extremely complicated. We wonder whether it keeps its promises. The site operator is Battika Sia, which is based in Riga, Latvia.

Is RussianBrides.com a rip-off?

Yes, all the signs indicate a scam. The online dating website RussianBrides.com doesn’t seem reliable in the slightest. Our first impression wasn’t too positive. The landing page doesn’t contain any substantive information at all. It just states that registration is free. This is of course far too little. Generally speaking, inadequate transparency is the first sign of an unreliable portal. Moreover, what the site offers isn’t consistent with its appearance.

This website claims to be an international matchmaker. Men from the US can register here to find Russian brides. To deliver such a complex service, a high quality and professional service would be needed. But this website doesn’t ask its users for any personal information while they register. We didn’t upload a profile picture and weren’t required to verify our account. The question arises as to how a matchmaking system could work on this site.

Well, we discovered how things work here. After we completed registration, we received countless messages. To be precise, we received 135 messages in the first five minutes. These are of course all fake. The website is a fake chat scam. There is no way a new member would genuinely receive this much attention, especially if their profile were devoid of any personal information.

It wasn’t difficult to establish that moderated chat and fake profiles are used. In the members´ area we didn’t see a single profile showing an average-looking woman. They all show very attractive people. This is generally a sign of fictitious profiles. But there is a significant problem here. The operator doesn’t admit anything about moderation in the site’s legal information. So legal proof of this is missing. However, the large number of messages we received and the self-evidently fake profiles are proof enough.

Last but not least, this website’s reputation isn’t exactly glowing. We found a lot of negative reviews about it on the internet. Its bad reputation is reason enough to avoid it. In our experience, there is a purpose in using moderation. Fake chat operators encourage new members to join conversations, for which costs arise. A user needs credits offered in subscription packages. These credits will be topped up via automatic repurchasing. This system can be used as a trap. Users face a high risk of falling for a subscription rip-off on this site.

Registration on RussianBrides.com

The registration screen is displayed right at the top of the landing page. This screen informs viewers that creating a profile is free. The process of registration also seems rather basic and is completed within a few moments. We enter our full name, a valid e-mail address and password. This is all the information required. Registration only takes a few seconds. In our experience, this isn’t a good sign at all.

This site claims to be an international matchmaker. But to find accurate matches, the search algorithm would need a lot of personal data. Here it’s up to you how much detail you want to disclose. You have to find a potential match and then work out for yourself whether you both have something in common or not.

The registration process doesn’t require users to upload a profile picture. Nor were we compelled to provide more information about ourselves. Last but not least, we did not have to verify our account. We did admittedly receive a reminder that we should attend to account verification. But this wasn’t compulsory. This made registration very quick and smooth, but the upshot clearly wasn’t advantageous for the user. Your personal data is not properly secured. And the failure to insist on verification makes fake profiles a risk. Moreover, anyone can register here to access your personal data.

Members’ area on RussianBrides.com

After our speedy registration, we entered the website. Our first stop is the members´ area, which is crowded with plenty of interesting women. If we just consider the members´ pool, this site appears to be a great choice. The design of the interface does not make a better impression than that of the landing page. It is similarly unappealing and doesn’t come across as modern. However, our evaluation is based not just on how the site looks but, more significantly, what it offers. If its services are good, we can overlook its old-fashioned design.

Navigation is smooth and simple. This website doesn’t offer too many features. So within a short time you’ll come to know all its areas like the back of your hand. At the top of the platform, we see the profile settings and search function, a feature we can use without being charged. This is a positive aspect. By this means we can scroll through the members´ area and see whether there’s any potential match we’d like to get to know.

On the portal’s left side, we see the inbox, our contact list and a count of how many women are currently online. During our review of this website, more than 2.000 female users were online. This means this site has a lot of members. The chances of meeting someone here must be good. But there appears to be a problem. We believe real meetings in person just won’t happen. First, the profiles don’t look real. Second, there are clear signs of a fake chat scam.

We checked the members´ area. While doing this, we didn’t find a single average-looking person. Every member of this platform looks like a model. This could of course seem very promising. But it strongly hints at the use of fake profiles. The profiles look too good to be true. Moreover, we received 135 messages within minutes of acquiring membership. Well, at least moderation is obvious here. However, there’s a problem. Legal proof of a fake chat scam is missing.

The site operator doesn’t admit anything in the site’s terms and conditions. There’s no mention of fictitious profiles or fake chat operators. This omission is definitely a bad thing. But the large number of messages we receive is proof enough. And we aren’t the only ones to conclude moderated chat is used. On the internet we found a lot of negative reviews from dissatisfied former customers. This site has a bad reputation for many good reasons.

In our experience, fake chat is used for a certain purpose. Costs will develop for the use of the site. The goal of fake chat operators is to increase the operator’s income. A user needs credits to send messages. This is the only function that will incur charges. As we see it, the whole thing is a waste of time.

Terms and conditions of RussianBrides.com

Extract from the terms and conditions from the RussianBrides.com website. Current status of the terms and conditions as of September 21, 2020.

Costs on RussianBrides.com

This website offers free registration. This is incidentally the sole item of information available on the landing page. However after registration is completed, costs will develop for sending messages. A user needs credits offered in different packages. The payment will recur as credits are offered as part of various types of subscription. So they will be automatically repurchased by topping up each month. It does not matter whether you still have credits on your balance or not. Should credits run out in the interim, they can of course always be purchased by the customer.

Our feeling is that the rates on this site are very overpriced. One credit is needed to send a message in the basic chat tool. A video chat costs up to six credits per minute. Sending an e-mail costs 10 credits for each message.

There are three different packages with credits available. 150 credits cost 49.99 USD, 600 credits cost 149.99 USD and 1500 credits cost 299.99 USD. One credit per message does not of course sound over-expensive. But it’s easy to spend a huge amount of money here in no time. Remember that we received 135 messages from very attractive members in the first few minutes.

This means you’ll have to buy a lot of credits to keep in touch with all your interlocutors. And we’d like to highlight two further points here. This website claims to be a matchmaker. This means you’d normally have to send a lot of messages to get to know your match. As this website doesn’t have a matchmaking system, you just have to find out by yourself whether a certain user could be the love of your life. This process will take a long time and thus require tons of messages.

Moreover, there is a high risk of falling for a rip-off. There are many hints of fake chat. So this website appears to be waste of time and money in all senses. And we found a few hints of a subscription trap too. As mentioned before, credits are offered in packages that will automatically be rebought every month. If a user purchases the biggest package, costs of 299.99 USD at the very least will develop each month.

This website doesn’t seem reliable enough to justify taking this risk. And there are clear signs that the platform operator plays cheeky tricks. Examples are its lack of transparency and use of fictitious profiles which appear to be moderated. Plus, the operator doesn’t seem reliable either. This company is based in Riga, Latvia. Last but not least, we found reviews from former users. Some mentioned a difficult subscription termination process.

Again, legal proof of a rip-off with a subscription trap is missing. But this website shows all the signs that this is happening. It definitely isn’t trustworthy enough to justify making a purchase here. The payment rates are too high to warrant taking any risk.

Conclusion from our RussianBrides.com experience

RussianBrides.com shows all the signs of being a cheeky scam. On the landing page, we didn’t find a single item of useful information. This is the first hint that the site’s a bad choice. After our registration, we received countless messages from other members. The profiles in the members´ area are obviously fake. We didn’t find one person who looks like an ordinary woman. All profiles show very attractive models. The chances of these profiles being genuine are very low.

However, we didn’t find proof that fake chat is used in the site’s terms and conditions. But the large number of messages we received is proof enough. Plus, we weren’t the only ones who had this impression. On the internet, we found numerous negative reviews of this site. Former users were very disappointed, which is another reason to skip this site. By the way, we found hints of a subscription trap too. Costs will ensue for credits which will be automatically rebought every month.
