Report for DateTheUK.com review
DateTheUK.com is a dating portal that is apparently for people who want to date Brits. At least that’s what one may gather from the domain name, but that wasn’t the kind of experience we received on the platform. The landing site has a few pictures that are used as a representation of expert tips that the site gives. The landing page invites users to find their soulmates. It features a few profiles of alleged members, along with their testimonials. Nothing seems to indicate that this site may have a fake chat service. At least not at first.
The website was developed by Antheia Services LTD. They are based in Larnaca, Cyprus. We have written a few reviews about them in the past, and we weren’t too impressed. We created an inconspicuous account with no bio or profile picture to perform a usability test. As promised on the landing site, registration was free. It only took us a couple of minutes, as we only needed to provide a functioning e-mail address. It is apparent that the operator wants to make it easy to access the platform without the user thinking too much about it.
We also studied the Terms of Use and found a few interesting paragraphs. They showed us that the portal hosts a fake chat service, which is the base for a typical online dating rip-off. The website was only created for general information and entertainment purposes. In other words, they have no intention of facilitating any dates. Their only goal is getting visitors to the site to sign up for a dangerous and pointless subscription once they register.

Details on the DateTheUK.com review
DateTheUK.com is a dodgy dating website developed by Antheia Services LTD, a company from Larnaca, Cyprus. Our experience with this operator has always been disappointing. They consistently create subscription rip-offs that promise to help users find love but all they really want is your money. The landing site is peppered with articles about safe online dating in an attempt to earn the user’s trust.
Useless basic account
Our basic account didn’t allow us to send out messages, but we were at least able to check out other profiles. After viewing all the other profiles, it was enough to realize they all had a cookie-cutter approach. Beautiful pictures and a few impersonal details were all we could find in the accounts we viewed. They were all unoriginal and obviously mass-produced to populate the members’ area, which will eventually be used to initiate the fake chat scheme. However, we know this kind of scam may not be clear for users who first encounter a fake dating site like this.
General information
The Terms and Conditions were straightforward about the site’s true purpose. They admitted that the website was only meant to provide general information and to be used for entertainment purposes. They take no responsibility whatsoever for any inaccuracies. This is another way of referencing fake profiles. Our suspicions were further confirmed by the automated messaging system described in the legal text. Of course, there are only a few people who bother to read this crucial information, and the operator is fully aware of it.
Excerpt from the Terms & Conditions (as of 16/08/2023)
The materials contained in this website are provided for general information purposes only and do not claim to be or constitute any form of professional advice. We do not accept any responsibility for any loss which may arise from accessing or reliance on information contained in this website.
Custom and promoted messages. You may choose to send certain forms of automated messages to other users, which may vary from time to time and include but are not limited to autoreply messages (Custom Messages). These Custom Messages may be in the form of template messages with pre-composed text, or may be a custom message edited by the sending user.
Sketchy memberships
The operator offers several different subscription modalities that have different durations ranging from 3 days to six months. The longer the membership, the cheaper the price per month will be. Based on the many reviews we have written; we were particularly skeptical of the short 3-day subscription. We have no proof in this case, but very often scam operators use these brief promotions to trick their users into accepting longer contracts. This is possibly due to the automatic renewals, paired with the fact that dubious companies are hard to reach when you want to cancel your subscription.
The conclusion from our DateTheUK.com review
DateTheUK.com is a dating platform that should help us find British love. However, users can find people from anywhere here. Or rather, the fake profiles on the chat always pretend to be nearby. The website looks professional, but it is just a scam. They try to drag users into signing up for a pointless subscription that may become difficult to cancel. The fishy company behind this rip-off is Antheia Services LTD, from Larnaca, in Cyprus.
