The online dating portal YourLocalFling.com advertises with a good offer. On this website, registration is free plus the chance to find a match must be good. At least, that is what the operator of the site wants the visitor to assume. But we did some research on the internet and found many reviews about a rip-off. According to that information, the portal is a fake chat. So, the profiles on the landing page plus in the members´ pool are fake. Fake operators manage those profiles to stimulate new users into a chat. The reason for the fake chat is obvious. After the registration is done, costs will occur for credits which are needed to send messages. Only the registration is free. As we see it, the advertisement for the free registration is a misleading detail. The fake operators will entice the user to spend more and more money.
This website is an expensive entertainment service
It all starts right after the registration. A new member will receive a lot of attention from other profiles in the form of messages. Those messages are erotic, but they do not contain the information that the person behind the profiles is a fake operator. Also, the fake profiles are not recognizably marked as such. A fake profile shows a heart icon. But, according to our information, all profiles show a heart icon. Plus, the site does not offer any further information about what it means. In the terms and conditions, we read about the heart icon.
We also found the note about the fake chat
“You also understand that this is a fantasy entertainment Service and that (i) the profiles are fictional and your interactions will be with operators”
That information is also mentioned on the landing page. Of course, that is good. However, the operator shows that important note only at the very bottom of the homepage. So, it is more hidden. The operator of the website is Meteor Interactive B.V. which is based in Utrecht, in the Netherlands. This company is well-known on the internet. It runs a huge network of dating sites that are all a rip-off with a fake chat.
