TenderHookup.com appears to be a promising dating website. It advertises itself as a great place to meet attractive locals and find affairs. However, our review of the site found it to be another fake chat scam and a subscription rip-off. Though the website says that registration is free, a basic membership here, is worthless. Users must purchase an expensive subscription to unlock all the essential features, including chatting.
Also, we discovered that most, if not all, the profiles on this website are fictitious. The terms of service reveal that the site employs the use of fake chat operators. Though they state that these fake accounts, called “Online Cupids,” are meant to entertain users and stimulate conversations, our experience informs us that this is not true. These fake accounts send suggestive messages to new users, in the hope of convincing them to sign up for a premium subscription. There is no chance of meeting these operators in real life, so this is a rip-off.
TenderHookup.com admits to using fake chat operators in the terms of service. The terms state that the website contains fictitious accounts, “Online Cupids.” These are fantasy profiles run by either computer chatbots, or company employees. It also states that it is impossible to meet these fictitious people in real life.
From the Terms and Conditions
THIS SITE USES FANTASY PROFILES AND MESSAGES CALLED: ONLINE CUPIDS®”: You understand, acknowledge, and agree that some of the user profiles posted on this site, may be fictitious and operated by the Site or its contractors.
Our experience on this site also found it to contain a subscription trap. Immediately after signing up for an account, our inbox was overflowing with messages from “Online Cupids.” These messages were all suggestive. This is a common tactic from scam websites. Fake chat operators will attempt to have unsuspecting users sign up for the automatically renewing subscription, as quickly as possible. Therefore, trapping them in a recurring cycle of payments. This is a rip-off because users will never be able to meet the operators of these accounts.
