Report for RomanceTale.com review
There is not much information to be seen on the home page of the online dating portal RomanceTale.com. The design of the page looks appealing and advertises for users who are looking for dating Asian women from Thailand, Korea, Chinese or Vietnam. We start our research to find out more about the platform.
In the terms and conditions of the portal, we learn that the operator is RomanceTale from Limassol in Cyprus. A first search on the Internet leads us to negative reports from former users claiming the site is a big rip-off with moderated chats and faked profiles. We have a first glance at the terms & conditions and find out that the portal uses so-called "Icebreakers", which are used to involve users in expensive chats. We had experiences already with this in the past. It is a rip-off like moderated chats.

Details on the RomanceTale.com review
We have some experience with online dating websites and are used to the fact that the first good impression is often deceptive. Even a good design or a great user interface can't hide that fact. This is also the case with the online dating portal RomanceTale.com. During our first visit to the landing page, we had a good impression, even there was not a lot of information.
That changes in a flash when we read the terms and conditions. The operator admits that he is using the “Icebreaker” system on his portal. Unfortunately, not many users read the terms & conditions and don’t know what the "Icebreaker" system is all about. If the customer gives his consent to the "Icebreaker" system, he enables the operator to contact other members under his profile and to perform various actions.
Here the excerpt from the terms & conditions
You may receive Icebreakers from the same Trusted Member more than once. Icebreakers may be sent through the same channels as ordinary messages, including as a chat or mail message.
The "Icebreaker" system for chat animation
"Icebreaker" actions can be, among others, sending friend requests and messages. This, of course, serves to animate chats and other paid services, which the customer must pay for. Even if the "Icebreaker" actions are especially - if not very obviously - marked, we think that this is a kind of rip-off, because the customers are deliberately misled and usually do not know, then the operators take over profiles in the meantime.
Also, we are of the opinion that the system "Icebreaker" can make it quite possible for the operator to place their own fictitious profiles in the member area and to mark these then simply as "Icebreaker". However, we do not have any proof of this. Other users complain the continuous service-automatic to up when the account balance is low.
From the terms & conditions
We may provide you with an option to charge your credit card or other payment method automatically for a certain number of Credits every time the number of Credits requires replenishment, until you cancel this arrangement via the Service.
The operator behind the portal
The company RomanceTale, based in Limassol, Cyprus, is behind the online dating portal RomanceTale.com. We have not been able to find any negative or positive reports about the company during our research so far. We will see if this changes in the future.
The conclusion from our RomanceTale.com review
The online dating portal RomanceTale.com uses the so-called "Icebreaker" system to encourage customers to engage in expensive chats and other costly services. From our experience, this is done either by employees or it is computer-generated actions. The whole thing resembles rip-offs through moderated chats with fictitious profiles. Fishy is also the automated credit card top-up, which seems to be another scam.
