At first sight, FreeXDates.com appears to be a great place to meet new people in no time. The registration is free, and the profile pictures on the landing page look promising and inviting. As always, we search the internet for user reviews and study the terms and conditions carefully. Also, we create a free test account, browse the members’ area, and check the offered features and tools. Unfortunately, we quickly find out that the portal is not a good choice and is, in fact, a scam.

Fake message scam and subscription trap

Shortly after the free registration, new users are flooded with enticing chat messages. As these appear to be sent by attractive members, users are eager to reply quickly. But to be able to do so, they must sign up for a paid membership subscription first because only subscribers are granted full access to the chat feature.

Unfortunately, the enticing chat messages are fake. They are not sent by real people, but by bots and fake chat operators hiding behind fictional profiles.
