The landing page of AsianDate.com looks very simple and trustworthy. Users are lured into creating an account by the promise of receiving lots of attention from attractive members.
In addition, the website ensures that every user is personally verified by the staff to prove that they are real. This sounds exactly how an honest dating site should be, but the reality might be different.
The first alarm bell sounded when it took us literally 10 seconds to create an account. Where is the personal verification that they promise?
Is it a fake chat scam
As soon as we start navigating through the profiles, we have the feeling that something is wrong. All the members look incredibly stunning and according to our experience, there are high chances that these profiles are fake. However, after reading the terms and conditions in their entirety, we still cannot find any evidence of that.
So, we decide to check the reviews from past customers of the company behind Asian Date.com, Sol Network Ltd, which is based in Malta. Our findings are self-explanatory.
Many people complain that this site is useless, and all the profiles are managed by fake chat operators. Even if we cannot be 100% sure, we suspect that this could be a fake chat scam.
What we do not doubt is that AsianDate.com implements a classic subscription scam. To send messages, a user must buy expensive “credits” which will rapidly run out. The big problem is that the monthly subscription is automatically renewed until the member decides to terminate the contract.
From former customers' reviews, we learn that cancelation is made extremely difficult by the company. But the most disturbing part is that there are multiple allegations about random charges from the user's credit cards.
