At first sight, the online dating platform Anonymous-Chats.com looks promising and trustworthy. The website offers free registration and promises to offer a safe place to find open-minded people who are looking for some fun.
But as we take a closer look into the footer of the website, we quickly find out what is really behind the enticing offer. We read that the site includes fictitious profiles, with which physical arrangements are not possible. As the chat is not free for the user, and there are no real members behind the profiles, the website has to be considered a rip-off.
In the terms and conditions of Anonymous-Chats.com, we find the following statement
“USER AGREES THAT ALL HOST CONTENT, INFORMATION, TEXT, AND PICTURES ARE FICTITIOUS AND CONSIDERED CONTENT PROVIDER CONTENT, AND SUCH CONTENT PROVIDER CONTENT IS PURELY INTENDED FOR ENTERTAINMENT AND ROLE PLAYING PURPOSES ONLY. ALL HOSTS APPEARING ON THE PLATFORM (IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA CLEARLY MARKED AND NAMED ‘CHATPALS’) ARE FICTITIOUS. ANY RESEMBLANCE TO REAL PERSONS, LIVING OR DEAD, ARE PURELY COINCIDENTAL”.
After the free registration, new users are offered a trial period, in which they can find and interact with other members. During that time, users usually receive a lot of enticing messages and many attractive members express their interest in them. Soon enough the trial period is over, and users must pay if they are willing to continue their promising chats. Users are not thoroughly informed about the fact that there are no real people behind the member profiles. They believe that they are talking to a real person with whom they might be able to arrange a date. To continue chatting, users must buy so-called “credits”, which are needed to send messages. Each sent message costs the user a lot of money, but the chances of realizing a real-life date are basically zero.
The operator of Anonymous-Chats.com is already well-known on the internet, and we have already had a lot of bad experiences with them in the past. The D Support B.V., which is based in Zutphen, in the Netherlands, runs a whole network of scam online dating websites. These sites are all known to lure their customers into expensive chat conversations, which can never result in real dates. Thus, we cannot recommend anyone to sign up on Anonymous-Chats.com or any other website run by this operator.
