The result of our Amour.com review: Our test on Amour.com turned out to be an insufficient dating website.

At first glance, Amour.com looks legit and inviting. It appears to be a great platform for a successful online dating experience. The registration is free and can be completed quickly and easily. However, after we do some research about the website and its operator, we cannot recommend anyone to register here. It is clearly a rip-off.

To be able to send messages in the chat, a paid membership is needed. These memberships are rather expensive and can easily lead to subscription traps. Furthermore, the operator of the site, NSI (Holdings) Limited, from London, UK, sends fake messages to new users, to lure them into paying for a membership.

At first sight, the online dating website Amour.com looks trustworthy and legit. The landing page is well-designed and a photo of a young, happy couple gives the website a warm feel. Furthermore, the landing page advertises with free registration, which can be completed quickly and easily. We do some research on the internet and read the terms and conditions of the portal. Unfortunately, the site turns out to be a rip-off.

The following note is from the terms and conditions

We may from time to time offer users the ability to “Promote My Account” through Account Settings. Activating this service will mean that we will automatically broadcast custom messages created by any user, or selected from a default list of template messages, to other users. We reserve the right to select members to use the Promote my Account service.

In other words, the operator reserves the right to hide behind any member profile, fake or real, and use it to get in touch with the users.

Immediately after the free registration, new users receive some flirty messages, allegedly from other members. These messages are not sent by real members, but through the “Promote my Account” service. They are created by either chatbots, or fake operators. As new users are not aware of this, they assume real members are behind these promising messages and are eager to reply quickly. But to do so, a paid membership is needed. Thus, Amour.com uses fake messages to lure new users into paying for a membership.

Different kinds of paid memberships

On Amour.com, users can choose between different kinds of paid memberships. The long-term premium-memberships are rather expensive. But the offered trial-memberships appear to be a great deal. They are relatively cheap and give new users all the benefits of the expensive premium-memberships for a few days, but without the commitment. However, these trial-memberships are in fact a dangerous trap.

All memberships on Amour.com renew automatically if they are not terminated by the user. The trial-membership not only renew automatically, but additionally convert into one of the more expensive memberships. The termination deadline is so short, that it is impossible to cancel in time. Consequently, users can easily step into an unexpected and expensive, long-term subscription trap. The operator behind this scam is NSI (Holdings) Limited from London, UK.
