At first sight, the online dating platform AdultSpace.com looks promising and trustworthy. On the landing page, the site advertises to be 100% free. It promises to be a perfect place to find sexy adult profiles of all sexes, ethnicities, and ages. We do some research and read the terms and conditions of the site carefully. What we find out is very disappointing.
Even though the site promises to be 100% free, we quickly find out that this is not the case at all. To be able to use all the interesting features of the site, including the chat and the advanced search functions, users must pay. The site offers several kinds of paid memberships to choose from. These memberships are rather expensive, and we strongly doubt that it is worth subscribing to one. When signing up on AdultSpace.com, users must agree that their profiles can be used in the so-called “icebreaker system”.
We took the following excerpt directly form the terms and conditions of AdultSpace.com
“Through these Services, we send Icebreaker messages, view profiles, send friend requests and send gifts (“Icebreaker Actions” or “Actions”) on behalf of and in the name of such consenting registered users. The Icebreaker Actions aim to introduce users to each other, facilitate and support conversation between users, encourage users to respond to each other's content, introduce new users to our most active community members, and generally promote the use of our service”.
“Icebreaker Actions may be triggered automatically or customized by us on an Action-by-Action basis”.
Directly after the free registration, new customers receive a lot of enticing messages from alleged members of the website. Due to the “icebreaker system”, it is obvious that these messages are not created by actual members, but by the operator and its team of fake controllers. New users are unaware of that fact. They are usually hoping to find a real person for a date on the site, so they want to respond to the messages immediately.
To do so, they must pay for a subscription first. Thus, the “icebreaker system” is a scam. It is only designed to lure users into subscribing for the expensive memberships. As the chances of finding someone for a real-life date are extremely low on this site it must be considered a rip-off. We cannot recommend anyone to register here. The operator of AdultSpace.com, Dime & Argyle from the Dutch town Grubbenvorst, is taking advantage of the desires and hopes of its customers and is only interested in their money.
